2021 Olympics - Men's All Around Final

Today's competition in Artistic Gymnastics sees the Men's All-Around Final take place in the Ariake Gymnastics Centre. Japan's Daiki Hashimoto was the top scorer in the qualifications over Russian Olympic Committee's Nikita Nagornyy and China's XIAO Ruoteng. Illia Kovtun - hop back. Where's Illia's coach? Joe Fraser - Double front half-out, few hops back on a couple of his landings but a solid start. LEE Junho - big step forward on triple twist vault. Philipp Herder - a couple of massive steps forwards on double front. XIAO Ruoteng - SOLID! Brody Malone - great routine on the Pommel Horse. Caio Campos Souza - Swing into strength element, hop back on the dismount. Nikita Nagornyy - double front pike half out, double twist to double front, solid tumbling, double-double,  double twist, half in half out. Step out of bounds. Daiki Hashimoto - Long pause in the corner, solid front full to 2.5, small hop on the third pass, stuck triple twist to finish. James Hall - Small strength to get to the first handstand, swinging well, bent arm into the dismount, otherwise a great routine. After the first rotation, Hashimoto leads Ruoteng with Brazil's Caio Campos Souza, Japan's Takeru Kitazono, and China's SUN Wei tied for third.  SUN Wei - double twist form to 1.5, double double straight - slight form issues, double-twisting double tuck, triple twist.

TANG Chia-Hung - solid vault. SUN Wei - swings well, lovely lines, GREAT! Caio Campos Souza - triple twist step back and a small directional problem off the horse. Eddy Yusof - Felder half, Felder to handstand, straddle front to upper catch, Apologies if I misspell the elements. Nikita Nagornyy - Solid routine on pommel horse. Daiki Hashimoto - Love his flairs work, great routine!! Philipp Herder - Tippelt, a few hand adjustments and short on a couple of the handstands. Joe Fraser - had a few issues to begin and comes off the horse. Adem Asil - lovely routine, issues on the dismount, counts a fall. Illia Kovtun - Bobbles on his handstand, felger half, Healy turn out, holds his handstands for ages, makutz, double tuck dismount. After the second rotation, Hashimoto leads the Chinese duo of SUN Wei and XIAO Ruoteng.

Malone - hop forward on 2.5 twists. Great vault from Ahmet Onder? XIAO Ruoteng - solid routine on the Rings. Kitazono - low landing and lands close to the vault table. SOLID Lukas Dauser on Parallel Bars. Nagornyy - great routine, hop back on dismount from the Rings. Hashimoto - couple of bobbles throughout the Rings routine and some small steps back. GREAT vault from Adem Asil. Delay on Hashimoto's score. Pakhnyuk - started off incredibly solidly but falls. Dalaloyan - smooth swing, solid in his strength moves, small hop back on the dismount. Enquiry on Hashimoto's score. Fraser - starts off well, small step on the dismount. Score unchanged for Hashimoto. SUN Wei - good routine on the Rings, low on the landing and takes a hop-forward. At the half way point in the competition, XIAO Ruoteng leads with SUN Wei and Hashimoto tied for second. Caio Campos Souza - lovely handstand position, swings well, double front forward to the upper arm, front straddle, fights hard for the dismount. 

STUCK VAULT From Nagornyy. Hashimoto - large step off to the side on his vault. Issues in the middle of Caio Campos Souza's horizontal bar routine. Dalaloyan - double front pike vault - deep squat and hop back. Kitazono - tippelt, Bhavsar, solid dismount. Massive vault from SUN Wei. XIAO Ruoteng - Step back. Solid vault. Shoulder injury for Ahmet Onder. Adem Asil - step back on the dismount and a couple of minor looking issues. TANG Chia-Hung - sky high Yamawaki, gorgeous swings and releases. Stuck dismount! Lukas Dauser - fall, remounts the High Bar, stoop full, one arm giant, stoop half to handstand, small hop forward on the dismount. Still waiting on Asil's score on Parallel Bars. Mikulak - Double front half out, hop forward, and solid routine!! Malone - Struggle on the felger, bent arms, Healy, diamadov, step on the dismount. With 2 rotations to go, XIAO Ruoteng leads over SUN Wei with Nagornyy in third. Illia Kovtun, solid first pass, 2.5 into front full, half in half out, flairs, triple twist.

Kitazono - Cassina, Kolman, Czech giants, stuck dismount! Hashimoto - SOLID!! Dalaloyan - upper arm half turn, SOLID! Kovtun - great swing on Pommel Horse, muscles his way through the end of the routine. TANG Chia-Hung - Solid first pass, front full to front double, clean tumbling. SUN Wei - Another great routine. Seemed to be a bit low in the chest on the landing on the double pike dismount. XIAO Ruoteng - Fantastic routine!! Nagornyy - SENSATIONAL!!! With one rotation to go - XIAO Ruoteng leads over Nagornyy and Hashimoto.

Hall - opens with three solid tumbling passes, triple twist to finish. Dalaloyan - Stuck full twist dismount. Joe Fraser - Solid routine. TANG Chia-Hung on Pommel - appeared short on his handstand, good routine. SUN Wei - low in the landing. XIAO Ruoteng - FANTASTIC routine!! Kitazono - pike half out, Small shuffle on the second pass. Good routine. Nagornyy - another fantastic routine, just a step forward and shoulders low on the dismount. Hashimoto - GREAT!!! Small hop forward. Inquiry requested by XIAO Ruoteng - unchanged. Daiki Hashimoto of Japan is your 2021 Men's Olympic All Around Champion. China's XIAO Ruoteng wins the silver and Russian Olympic Committee's Nikita Nagornyy finished with the bronze medal.

2023 Central American and Caribbean Games Women's Artistic TF & AA/EF Qualifications

Today sees the Women's Artistic Gymnastics Competition begin at the 2023 Centroamerican and Caribbean Games which is being held in San Salvador. Barbados declined the invitation to compete meaning the delegation of Puerto Rico has been increased from three to four gymnasts. After the first subdivision, the Mexican team has a commanding 10-point lead over Panama with Costa Rica sitting in third. Mexico's Natalia Isabel Escalera Cardenas sits atop the All Around rankings over compatriot Alexa Citlali Moreno Medina and Panama's Karla Andrea Navas Boyd. Moreno Medina also leads the Vault and Floor standings with compatriots Escalera Cardenas topping the Uneven Bars and  Paulina Campos Martinez top scoring on the Balance Beam.  The Team from Mexico remained dominant to win the team title over Panama with the team from Colombia winning the bronze medal.
