2021 Women's Artistic Gymnastics Olympic Team Final

What an exciting and drama-filled final it was. Simone Biles withdrew after a scary-looking vault citing her mental and emotional health. Sunisa Lee stepped in on Floor Exercise and Jordan Chiles competed on the Uneven Bars and Balance Beam. Russian Olympic Committee won the Team Title with Great Britain earning the bronze medal. ROC wore a gorgeous blue and white leotard with diamantes. Red and yellow leotard with silver diamantes for China. Stylish white leotard with blue and white patterning and silver diamantes for France. Belgium wore a black sleeved with silver diamantes and red, gold, and black diamantes with the white bottom half. Italy wore a stunning deep blue leotard with silver diamantes and mesh-looking sleeves. Japan wears a white and blue leotard with diamantes. Patriotic Red, white, and navy blue leotard with diamantes.

Nina Derwael on Beam - roundoff layout mount, beautiful leap series, beautiful combination, slight bobble on side aerial, triple wolf turn, double wolf turn, layout full dismount. Angelina Melnikova - Yurchenko double twist, slight hop back. Grace McCallum - Yurchenko double twist lands off and steps to the side. Hitomi Hatakeda - solid first pass, lovely spin with the leg held, manages to stay in on the second pass with a major balance check, falls out of the wolf double turn, steps out of double turn, double pike. Lilia Akhaimova - Cheng, major hop back. Simone Biles - deep landing and major step forward. TANG Xijing - Toe on Shap, gorgeous lines and handstands, pirouette on top of the bar, Jaeger, double straight dismount. Carolann Heduit - Toe Shap, hop to reverse arm bend, short on a couple of her handstands, double front dismount. Asia D'Amato - Double layout, hop back, stuck double Arabian, interesting choreo, deep on her final pass. Jennifer Gadirova - Candle mount on Beam, lovely close beam work, connection series, turn, slight bobble on her choreo, flip layout layout, Onodi to jump series, double tuck dismount. Melanie de Jesus dos Santos - Layout tkatchev, solid swing, slightly short on the stoop in, full pirouette, solid dismount. LU Yufei - tkatchev to gienger, pirouette series, fall on release, repeats element, high on the dismount. 

Yuna Hiraiwa - Yurchenko 1.5 hop forward but lovely in the air. Grace McCallum - Pirouette to toe on shap, lovely releases, stuck landing. Asia D'Amato - 1.5 twist - slight step to the side. Jutta Verkest - double turn, hop back on double pike, double tuck hop back, double wolf turn, gorgeous leaps, lovely presentation of her dance. Jennifer Gadirova - Full in double layout, sky-high leaps, slight bobble on double layout, great presentation and dance, layout step out to double tuck. Melnikova - stoop in to jaeger, solid routine! TANG Xijing - solid mount, bobble on change ring and split ring, lovely combination, front walkover to jump combination, lovely double twist dismount. Sunisa Lee - SOLID!!!! Melanie de Jesus dos Santos - solid mount, piked front somi, solid acro series, lovely leap combo, split half, solid performance, hop back on the double tuck dismount. Viktoriia Listunova - another solid routine, form issues on giant half and leg separation on her dismount. LU Yufei - Splits mount, beautiful leap combo, roundoff layout, low landing, slight bobble in jump combination, missed connection, a few bobbles in this routine, solid double twist dismount. Vladislava Urazova - Stoop in full, stoop to high bar, gorgeous amplitude on her releases. Mai Murakami - solid vault, hop to the side and deep in the landing. 

Vladislava Urazova - Fall on her opening acro series, slight bobble on her leap, bobble on front aerial, misses the connection with leaps, triple wolf turn, double wolf turn, side aerial, hop-forward on her dismount. Aiko Sugihara - staelder, toe on shap to gienger, slight arm bend on handstand, lovely double pike dismount. Alice D'Amato - tkatchev to low bar, lovely pirouette, big jump forward out of double front dismount. ZHANG Jin - Double turn, front double twist to front layout, gorgeous leaps, whip to triple twist with split jump, step out of double turn with leg hold, double pike small hop back. Sunisa Lee - Split mount, triple wolf turn, double wolf turn, slight bobble on front aerial and misses connection, solid jump series, side aerial layout layout, hop back on dismount. LU Yufei - Step out of triple turn, solid first two tumbling passes, bobble on the landing of her double tuck. Viktoriia Listunova - candle mount, wolf turn combination, handspring front, slight bobble on her leap series, solid combination, solid double tuck dismount. Jordan Chiles - Side aerial layout stepout, solid connection, side somi, great jump combination, double half, double pike dismount. Jessica Gadirova - solid vault! Asia D'Amato - slight leg seperation, good routine, double tuck dismount. 

Grace McCallum - leg up out of double double, front layout double twist forward - goes out of bounds, triple wolf turn, double wolf turn, full in back out, double tuck with a step back. Asia D'Amato - bobble on her mount, solid acro series, wobble on side somi, double pike dismount with hop back. Vladislava Urazova - full in pike, 2.5 punch front, solid, she's a classy performer on the floor, triple wolf turn, double wolf turn, double tuck, clean double twist. Jordan Chiles - Triple wolf turn, full in double layout out of bounds, double straight, falls on double twist front full, disorientated, double pike to finish. Martina Maggio - Split leap onto the beam, solid leap series, small balance check on acro series, change leap ring leap jump, front walkover, splits on the beam, lovely dismount. Viktoriia Listunova - Great routine! Yuna Hiraiwa - triple wolf turn, slight balance check on roundoff layout, solid on her jumps, double wolf turn, solid dismount!! Sunisa Lee - Lovely double double, solid double layout, front twisting combination, triple wolf turn, double wolf turn, solid final pass. Angelina Melnikova - LOVELY routine!!

2023 Central American and Caribbean Games Women's Artistic TF & AA/EF Qualifications

Today sees the Women's Artistic Gymnastics Competition begin at the 2023 Centroamerican and Caribbean Games which is being held in San Salvador. Barbados declined the invitation to compete meaning the delegation of Puerto Rico has been increased from three to four gymnasts. After the first subdivision, the Mexican team has a commanding 10-point lead over Panama with Costa Rica sitting in third. Mexico's Natalia Isabel Escalera Cardenas sits atop the All Around rankings over compatriot Alexa Citlali Moreno Medina and Panama's Karla Andrea Navas Boyd. Moreno Medina also leads the Vault and Floor standings with compatriots Escalera Cardenas topping the Uneven Bars and  Paulina Campos Martinez top scoring on the Balance Beam.  The Team from Mexico remained dominant to win the team title over Panama with the team from Colombia winning the bronze medal.
