Senior Asian Gymnastics Championships - Day One Event Finals

China's YIN Dehang comes into the Still Rings final to replace Korea's LEE Junho. Day One of the Event Finals sees the Men's Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse, and Still Rings Finals, and the Women's Vault and Uneven Bars Finals. The applause for Carlos Edriel Yulo was deafening. Philippines gymnast John Ivan Cruz comes into the final to replace China's TIAN Hao. SU Weide - lovely 2.5 twist to double front, front triple full, Randi, triple twist to finish. Couple of hops and low in the landing but no major issues. Quite light on his tumbling lines.  RYU Sunghyun - lovely first line, massive lunge on the second pass, solid ending. Few issues on landings. Fumiya Sasaki - Solid double twisting double tuck, front full to 2.5, deep squat on third pass, solid in strength hold Manna, beautiful 3.5 twists, ends with a step triple full. Shinnosuke Oka - lovely double layout with full twist, solid in next two passes, lovely flair sequence, press handstand, slight bobble on 2.5 twists to end. Milad Karimi - Out of bounds on Randi side pass, front full to double pike, great double twisting double tuck, step back on his final pass. Dmitry Patanin - Lovely double front, slight bobble on second pass, double twisting double tuck, great strength hold, floats into the next passes, slight hop on triple twist to finish. Carlos Edriel Yulo - Apologies, I was ENGROSSED by his routine - AMAZING!! Added in a new pass to start. John Ivan Cruz - Carlos' second cousin, slight steps on landings, but lovely form in the air, 1.5 twists to front double full, running front double half, sits down on front layout out of two and a half. The 2023 Asian Champion on Floor is Philippines gymnast Carlos Edriel Yulo, who wins the title over Kazakhstan's Dmitry Patanin and China's SU Weide.

We move on to the Women's Vault and Men's Pommel Horse finals. YIN Dehang - lovely routine but a bit wild on the dismount. YEO Seojeong - love this leotard! Solid handspring rudi; DTY - slight hop on landing to the side but solid. Khabibullo Ergashev - great routine with some lovely lines. Pranati Nayak - red, silver and black leotard with diamante up top and sleeveless. Low landing on Tsukahara full with small step forward; Handspring front tuck with full twist - large step out of bounds on landing. TIAN Hao  - swings really well and a great landing on his dismount. Lovely red leotard with diamantes for Rifda Irfanaluthfi - large step on Yurchenko full but lovely form; Handspring front with half twist - small hop on landing. Shinnosuke Oka - Thomas flairs were incredible, swings easily into dismount. Darya Yassinskaya - lovely black leotard with silver diamantes including crosses down the front; small two step on handspring front pike half; Small hop back on Yurchenko full. Nariman Kurbanov - SOLID!! Oksana Chusovitina - Sleeveless purple and white leotard. Step off to side on handspring front layout full; SOLID Tsukahara full twist! Ryota Tsumura - wow! Is all I can say. Aleah Finnegan - blue sleeved leotard with white and red with diamantes. Stunning. STUCK Yurchenko 1.5! Step on Omelianchik. Ahmad Abu Al Soud - Solid routine. SHIN Solyi - Same leotard as her compatriot. Lovely laid out Yurchenko, hop on layout Tsukahara. Abdulla Azimov - solid beginning and comes off. ZHANG Qingying - lovely blue and white leotard with diamante patterning. Tsukahara with full twist. Solid. Handspring front pike half, couple of steps on landing. Kazakhstan's Nariman Kurbanov wins the Pommel Horse title over Jordan's Ahmad Abu Al Soud with Ryota Tsumura of Japan taking the bronze medal. The Republic of Korea's SEO Yeojeong wins the Vault title over Uzbekistan's Oksana Chusovitina and Aleah Finnegan of the Philippines.

Onto Men's Still Rings and Women's Uneven Bars. Lovely black leotard with coral and blue and diamantes for Dildora Aripova. Beautiful white leotard with red and silver diamantes for Chinese Taipei's TING Hua-Tien. LIN Guan-Yi - well controlled to begin, slight movement in handstand, double twisting double tuck dismount. Aripova - Clear hip blind to Ezhova, Maloney, misses the Ray and comes off, remounts, comes off again after losing momentum in a pirouette, back tuck dismount. NG Kiu Chung - elegant worker on the Rings, Maltese, full twisting double layout dismount. Rifda Irfanaluthfi - lovely piked Jaeger, slight leg separation, full twisting double tuck dismount - solid. Shinnosuke - Solid routine with a great dismount. SHIN Solyi - Maloney to Pak, van Leeuwen, high Jaeger, full twisting double tuck with a small hop on dismount. YIN Dehang - slight bobbles in handstands, but solid dismount with a small step back. TING Hua-Tien - fall, remounts, Jaegar, hesitant in pirouettes, good dismount. LEE Junghyo - solid routine with hop on full-twisting double layout. ZUO Tong - deep blue leotard with white sleeves and silver/white diamante patterning; Shaposh to pak salto, Maloney to inbar Gienger, swings well, pirouette to Jaeger, step sidewards on dismount. NGUYEN Van Khanh Phong - lovely holds and toe point in his routine, finishes with a step back on his dismount. Milka Gerhani Devyanjala Elpititya Badalge Dona - Purple and white leotard with diamantes, Shaposh to clear hip Tkatchev, double pike dismount - solid routine for her. Carlos Edriel Yulo - couple of bobbles and a small hop of double twisting double tuck dismount but a lovely routine. QIU Qiyuan - Red leotard with diamantes - 2 full spins to layout Jaeger, Downie, FALL on van Leeuwen, remounts and repeats and small hop on dismount. LAN Xingyu - Sensational routine! LEE Yunseo -  beautiful routine!! China's LAN Xingyu wins the Men's Still Rings title over Vietnam's NGUYEN Van Khanh Phong with Hong Kong's NG Kiu Chung winning the bronze medal. China's QIU Qiyuan wins the Women's Uneven Bars title despite having a fall over the Republic of Korea's LEE Yunseo with China's ZUO Tong winning the bronze medal.
