2020 Women's Artistic Euros Junior Event Finals

Welcome to the final day of competition at the 2020 Women's Artistic Gymnastics European Championships. We begin today with the Junior Event Finals. Romania's Ana Barbosu topped all four in qualification and will be looking to top the standings again today. I joined the coverage with one gymnast to go on the Uneven Bars. Gorgeous blue gradient leotard with diamantes for Hungary's Anna Szmirnov.  Solid routine. Romanian Ana Barbosu won the Vault title over Bulgaria's Valentina Georgieva and Ukraine's Daria Lyska. Barbosu has also taken the Uneven Bars title over Croatia's Sara Sulekic and Turkey's own Derin Tanriyasukur. Am really loving the leotards this Championships. 

Lovely white and light blue shiny leotard for Malta's Tara Vella Clark. Dark blue, diamante silver leotard for Lyska. Kasianenko is tiny compared to the other gymnasts. Preda is wearing a black, red and blue leotard with yellow patterning on the sides. Marikova is wearing a white half leotard with green, blue and yellow. Vella Clark - bobble on full turn with leg up; off on acro series; off on second acro series. Love Lyska's leo - solid acro series. Gorgeous leaps. Solid routine. Preda - quite a tall looking gymnast, bobble on walkover, Major bobble but solid otherwise. Marikova - tiny form break on dismount. Missed most of the routine due to issues with the stream. From the replay, she looked solid. Barbosu - bright blue, red, white, yellow and skin leotard. She is rock solid!! Small hop forward on the dismount. Hungary's Greta Mayer is wearing a red leo with white sleeves with diamantes. Solid routine with couple of form breaks. Love her close to the beam work. Turkey's Sevgi Kayisoglu - red leotard with white stripes and diamantes. Bobble on acro series. Couple of form breaks but otherwise a nice routine. Navy Blue leotard with white stripes and diamantes for Yuliia Kasianenko. A couple of form breaks and bobbles but otherwise a good routine. Due to the tie-break rules, Romanian Ana Barbosu wins the Beam title over Hungarian Greta Mayer with Andreea Preda winning the bronze medal. 

Batrona is wearing a black and blue leotard with diamantes. Ceplinschi is wearing red, navy and yellow leotard with white patterning and diamantes. Barbosu is up first. Can she make it a clean sweep of all the gold medals in the Junior Competition? Hop backwards on first pass with a small step back on the second. High in the leaps. Step backward on her third pass. Lyska - step on first pass, solid second - chest slightly low. Bobble on final pass. Gorgeous ending sequence. Batrona - beautiful dance and leaps. A couple of issues with the landings but solid. Ceplinschi - powerful tumbler. Solid routine with a couple of small issues on two of her landings. Slovenia's Zala Trtnik - White leotard with diamantes. Solid routine. Czech Republic's Nela Stepandova - white, red and blue flames leo. Sky high tumbling with elegant lines. Croatian Sara Sulekic - red leotard with black and white patterning and diamantes. Missed the routine due to live stream issues. 11.800. Mayer - solid tumbling. Beautifully high leaps and great musicality. And with that Ana Barboru takes the Floor gold over compatriot Maria Ceplinschi and Greta Mayer of Hungary.

2023 Central American and Caribbean Games Women's Artistic TF & AA/EF Qualifications

Today sees the Women's Artistic Gymnastics Competition begin at the 2023 Centroamerican and Caribbean Games which is being held in San Salvador. Barbados declined the invitation to compete meaning the delegation of Puerto Rico has been increased from three to four gymnasts. After the first subdivision, the Mexican team has a commanding 10-point lead over Panama with Costa Rica sitting in third. Mexico's Natalia Isabel Escalera Cardenas sits atop the All Around rankings over compatriot Alexa Citlali Moreno Medina and Panama's Karla Andrea Navas Boyd. Moreno Medina also leads the Vault and Floor standings with compatriots Escalera Cardenas topping the Uneven Bars and  Paulina Campos Martinez top scoring on the Balance Beam.  The Team from Mexico remained dominant to win the team title over Panama with the team from Colombia winning the bronze medal.
