2025 Europeans - Day Two Event Finals

And so we reach the final day of competition at the 2025 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships which are being held in Leipzig, Germany. 

Ukraine's Nazar Chepurnyi is up first on Vault - Dragulescu strong vault to begin; stuck Kasamatsu double twist!! Jake Jarman (GBR) - STUCK Yonokura! Foot/step back on the landing of his Dragulescu. Artur Davtyan (ARM) - Phenomenal Dragulescu to begin; And his second vault is incredible, stuck but low chest in the landing! Yazz Ramsahai (NED) - deep squat on the Roche vault and hop back; Tsukahara double pike - lots of problems on the landing. Neofytos Kyriakou (CYP) - Slightly underrotates and steps back on the landing of his first vault; I missed the second vault step back on the landing. Harry Hepworth (GBR) - takes a couple of steps back on his Dragulescu, and another well-performed vault, piked and steps on the landing. Sebastian Sponevik (NOR) - lovely Dragulescu to begin with a step back and out of bounds on the line, and lovely second vault with a small hop forward. And finally, we have Nicola Bartolini of Italy - beautiful lines in the area, deep squat on the first and hand down on the Yurchenko 2.5. Armenia's Artur Davtyan wins the Vault title over Jake Jarman of Great Britain and Nazar Chepurnyi of Ukraine.

We now turn to the Balance Beam final. I love the deep maroon leotard with diamantes of Morgane Osyssek-Reimer. Great save in the middle of her routine. Step back on the dismount. Ana Barbosu - solid routine for Ana. Sofia Tonelli - bobble on her acro series, and a couple of bobbles in the routine with a lovely double pike dismount. Jennifer Williams - comes off on her acro series and falls on her dismount. Nina Derwael - what a beautifully performed routine!! Manila Esposito - she's off on her mount, and has a couple of issues in her routine with leg separation and step back on her dismount. Denisa Golgota - She looks so happy; what a comeback story; what a save on her front tuck, hands down and off on her Kossacs, large lunge forward on her dismount. Lorette Charpy -  beautiful mount, bobbles on her acro series, huge step forward on the dismount. Belgium's Nina Derwael wins the Balance Beam title over Romania's Ana Barbosu with Italian Sofia Tonelli picking up the bronze medal. 

Phew. We still have more gymnastics to go. We turn now to the Men's Parallel Bars. Solid start to the competition by Ian Raubal of Switzerland. Harald Wibye - has trouble in the middle of the routine and is off the apparatus, remounts and finished solidly. Courtney Tulloch - solid routine, a couple of bobbles and a bit of a wild dismount. My coverage glitched and it looked like he almost put his hands down before hopping to the side. Nils Dunkel - Hop back on the dismount but a great routine! Ferhat Arican - had some serious issues in the early part of the routine but finished well. Leo Saladino - slight overarch and break in the makutz, but a good routine for him. Timo Eder - solid routine!! Inquiry lodged by Leo Saladino was rejected. Oleg Verniaiev - comes off on the one-armed one-rail handstand. Germany's Nils Dunkel wins the Parallel Bars title over Switzerland's Ian Raubal with Dunkel's compatriot Timo Eder winning the bronze.

We move on to our penultimate final - the Women's Floor Exercise. Manila Esposito - hop back on double pike but such a beautiful routine. Emma Fioravanti - What a well-performed routine. Ming van Eijken - falls on her first pass, lovely combination second pass, double wolf turn, steps back on her second last pass. Ana Barbosu - gorgeous routine. All I can say. Jennifer Williams - oooohhhh I love this beautiful leo that she is wearing. Slight bobble on her landing of her first pass, triple wolf turn, I missed her second pass, lovely interpretation of the music, hands down on her final pass. Ruby Evans -hop back on her double layout, couple of hops on her landing of her tumbling passes, but great choreo, solid final pass. Karina Schoenmaier - Good routine for Karina, a couple of hops on her landings. Inquiry submitted by Ruby Evans, which was subsequently rejected. Alba Petisco - such a wonderful performance and choreography, Solid tumbling passes! Romania's Ana Barbosu wins the Floor Exercise title with Italy's Manila Esposito and Spain's Alba Petisco finishing second and third respectively. 

And now for the for the final event - Men's Horizontal Bar - high flying, daring and spectacular. We start with the top qualifier Robert Tvorogal - great routine with a hop on his triple back dismount. Noe Seifert - comes down after a misplacement of his hand, remounts with some high flying releases and great inbar work, with a solid dismount. Joel Plata - leg separation and misses one of his release moves coming off the bar. Remounts and unfortunately falls again. Huge step on the dismount. Marios Georgiou - GREAT routine!!! Step on his dismount. Krisztofer Meszaros - Close on the Kolman, hop back on his dismount. Okay, I'm not crying... you are. This marks Andreas Toba's final routine before retirement. SOLID!!! Adem Asil - Unfortunately my coverage glitched the entirety of his routine. And our final competitor is France's Anthony Mansard - Fantastic routine!!! Lithuania's Robert Tvorogal wins the Horizontal Bar title with Germany's Andreas Toba winning the silver medal. Mansard finishes third.

2025 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships

The 2025 European Championships in Artistic Gymnastics is set to be held in Leipzig, Germany from the 26th to 31st May 2025. Within this competition, we will see Team Competition, Individual All Around, and Apparatus Finals. This will also see the first Mixed Team Final which will see the top 16 teams made up of 1 Male and 1 Female from their qualifying nations compete. The Men will compete on the Floor Exercise, Parallel Bars, and Horizontal Bar, with the Women competing on the Vault, Balance Beam, and Floor Exercise, with their scores combining to determine the winning team.
