2024 Olympics - Men's All Around Final

All I can say is ooph. I woke up to the end of rotation three - the halfway point to find that both ZHANG Boheng and Daiki Hashimoto have both had falls. Felix Dolci's grip broke on Horizontal Bar, allowed him to redo his routine?. Japan's Shinnosuke Oka leads over Ukraine's Oleg Verniaiev and China's XIAO Ruoteng. After four rotations, Verniaiev leads from compatriot Ilia Kovtun with XIAO Ruoteng in third. Heading into the final rotation, Japan's Shinnosuke Oka leads XIAO Ruoteng and ZHANG Boheng. Japan's Shinnosuke Oka is the 2024 Olympic Games Men's All Around Champion with China's ZHANG Boheng and Xiao Ruoteng finishing in second and third respectively. Close competition, with Illia Kovtun finishing only 0.667 behind Shinnosuke Oka for fourth place. MEN'S ALL-AROUND FINAL:  Shinnosuke Oka (JPN) (14.566, 14.500, 13.866, 14.300, 15.100, 14.500) 86.832 ZHANG Boheng (CHN) (13.233, 14.333, 14.600, 14.500, 15.300, 14.633) 86.599 XIAO Ruoteng (CHN) (14.

The Women's team final is being contested in the Bercy Arena. Reminder that it is 3 up and all three scores will count toward the team total. 2024 Olympics - Men's Team Final

Men's Team Final live from the Bercy Arena. The Japanese men looked focused and joyous. Let's go USA! China looks on a mission. Huge applause for the teams as they are announced. Just a reminder that it is three up and three count. Some leg separation for Jake Jarman on Pommel Horse, slightly skewed on the leadup to the dismount. Felix Dolci - solid vault, hop forward. Kazuma Kaya - some hops and steps on his first couple of tumbling lines. Solid triple twist to finish. ZHANG Boheng - Clean routine, some steps back on a couple of his tumbling passes. Asher Hong - Double twisting double layout - small hop on landing. Lorenzo Minh Casali - slight wobbles and step on dismount. SU Weide - lovely 3.5 twist, double twisting double, such an improved performance from qualification. Shinnosuke Oka - Massive pass to open, phenomenal routine! Oleg Verniaiev - great swing, solid!! After the first rotation, Great Britain leads over Japan and Canada. Florian Langenegger - lovely vault, hop f

2024 Olympics - WAG Qualification

And here we go. I still have so many emotions from the Men's Qualifications, and I am sure that today's qualifications for the Women will provide the same. Happiness, sadness, miraculous, joy, disappointment, thrills, and hopefully not too many spills. Loving the leotards this first rotation. Beautiful navy and silver leotard for the Great British team with diamantes and patterning on the front and down the side. Gorgeous deep red and red leotards with diamantes for the Mexicans. Black leotard with all the sparkles and Romanian colours down the side and on the shoulders.. Love Caitlin Rooskrantz's leotard! Beautiful white and light blue leotard for Anna Lashchevska. Okay I have not seen a single leotard I have not loved in this first subdivision. Mexican Natalia Escalera will only be competing on the Uneven Bars as she has torn her left plantar ligament. Appears Caitlin Rooskrantz injured herself on Floor - foot heavily wrapped and iced and leaves on crutches. Oh Jade. My h

2024 Olympics - MAG Qualifications Results

Minor heart attack when today's start list came out and Carlos Edriel Yulo of the Philippines was only listed for Vault. The start list was soon corrected due to an online form being incorrectly submitted by the NF/NOC from the Philippines. Huge sigh of relief. I was doing quick hits, but the initial feed I was watching was so skippy. So happy to see so many fans in attendance!  TEAM QUALIFICATION: China (41.432, 43.199, 45.199, 43.499, 46.333, 43.366) 263.028 Japan (42.166, 43.965, 42.532, 43.466, 45.233, 43.232) 260.594 Great Britain (43.665, 43.432, 41.300, 44.299, 43.099, 40.766) 256.561 Ukraine (41.432, 42.532, 40.832, 44.632, 45.032, 39.433) 253.893 United States of America (41.899, 42.433, 42.366, 43.166, 43.266, 40.099) 253.299 Italy (41.933, 40.799, 40.400, 43.533, 42.300, 40.799) 249.764 Switzerland (41.566, 41.732, 39.532, 43.099, 43.600, 40.133) 249.662 Canada (41.466, 38.999, 41.699, 42.365, 42.699, 40.566) 247.794 Turkiye (40.366, 38.332, 42.465, 44.032, 42.832, 39.53

Flag Bearers for Paris Olympic Games Opening Ceremony

Image
The Parade of Nations at the Olympic Games is one of my favourite parts of the Opening Ceremony. I especially love watching and listening to the backgrounds of those chosen to be flagbearers for their nations.  South Africa's Caitlin Rooskrantz has been named as one of the flag bearers for the nation at the Opening Ceremony. Image from Team SA Facebook Page. See here for the announcement. The Islamic Republic of Iran's Mahdi Olfati has also been named as a flag bearer for the Opening Ceremony.
