2023 Chengdu Universiade RG Individual AA and Apparatus Final Qualifications

The rhythmic Gymnastics competition gets underway today at the Chengdu Sports University Gymnasium with the first day of the Individual All-Around competition and apparatus qualification, with gymnasts taking to the competition with the Hoop and Ball. Solid starts from Andreea-Cristina Verdes and Adelina Beljajeva. Such flexibility and great turns from Pekova. There is quite a delay in the scoring with one gymnast finishing and the other still having a lengthy wait for their score! Couple of drops from Singapore's Angeline Qihong Lin. After the first group on the first day, Hungarian Fanni Pigniczki leads the Hoop standings over Japan's Naruha Suzuki and Kazakhstan's Elzhana Taniyeva. Whilst with the Ball, Pigniczki leads over Taniyeva and Bulgaria's Lachezara Iachezarova Pekova. Pigniczki leads Suzuki and Taniyeva in the All-Around standings. At the end of the first day, Pigniczki leads in the All Around over Ukraine's Khrystyna Pohranchyna and China's LI Huilin. Pigniczki topped the Hoop qualification over Pohranchyna and Azerbaijan's Zohra Aghamirova and was also the top qualifier for the Ball final over LI Huilin and Bulgarian Tatyana Nikolaevna Volozhanina. The Around competition concludes tomorrow along with the Clubs and Ribbon qualification. 

And here we are for day two of the All-Around competition and apparatus qualifications for the Clubs and Ribbon finals. Hungarian Fanni Pigniczki took out the competition with a massive 4.5-point margin over Ukrainian Khrystyna Pohranchyna with Japan's Reina Matsusaka taking out the bronze medal. Pigniczki top scored to the Clubs final over Bulgarian Tatyana Nikolaevna Volozhanina and China's ZHAO Yue. Whilst with the Ribbon, Reina Matsusaka is the top qualifier to the apparatus final over Pigniczki and Kazakhstan's Elzhana Taniyeva.

Day 2 EF - 2024 MAG Asian Championships

Today marks the final day of competition at the Asian MAG Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Senior Men's Vault, Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bar finals will be contested along with all six finals for the Junior Men (see separate post) for the Junior results. I had commitments for the final three finals for the Juniors, so will update the post with the scores when I can. ` Okay, Vault time.
