2021 European Artistic Championships - Event Finals Day 1

Welcome to the first day of the Event Finals at the 2021 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships from Basel, Switzerland.  Turkey's Ahmet Onder - step forward on the final landing but a rock solid routine. So lovely to watch and nice form in the air. Yahor Sharamkou - missed the first part of his routine due to streaming issues. Few issues in the routine. Nicola Bartolini - handspring front double pike, double twisting double tuck, solid. Such flair, 2.5 to front layout full, stuck final pass. Nikita Nagornyy - the Nagornyy - gets better every time. Strong routine. 6.8 difficulty! Adem Asil - hops forward. Great tumbling. Solid routine. Kirill Prokopev - Issues on the first pass. A lunge forward on a couple of his passes. Flairs sequence was fantastic to watch! Ooops he didn't see Dimitrov go in to shake hands. Benjamin Gischard - Controlled tumbling. Super routine!! Dimitrov - good routine - a few hops forward. Nagornyy wins the Floor Exercise title over Switzerland's Benjamin Gischard and Italian Nicola Bartolini. Love this podium finish!!

Women's Vault and Men's Pommel Horse finals to be contested concurrently next. David Belyavskiy to get us started - Fall and tumble on the dismount. Anastasiia Motak wears a lovely navy leotard, mesh sleeves with diamantes. low on DTY. Slight form errors on second vault. Joshua Nathan - form break comes off the horse. Finishes with a solid dismount. Sara Peter - gorgeous teal, coral and black leotard with diamantes. Hands down on first vault. Crashes her second vault. Artur Davtyan - great swing. Solid. Jessica Gadirova - White and navy leotard with diamantes, Union Jack on the back and sleeves - Lovely. Step back on DTY.  Lovely. Kovtun - also comes off the apparatus. Missed Bacskay on vault. Great routine from Nagornyy! Maroon and orange leotard with diamantes patterning. Sparkly. Gorgeous DTY. Slight bobble. Gagik Khachikyan - A couple of bobbles but solid. Tjasa Kysselef - love this leotard - purple and black leotaed with diamante patterning. A bit of form issues in the first vault. Great second vault - handspring half tuck with full twist. Joe Fraser - solid swings, great dismount. Giulia Steingruber - SOLID!! Black leotard with yellow patterning. Yurchenko double full - GREAT!! Rhys McClenaghan - Oh no. He's off. Before and after it was beautiful. Marina Nekrasova - Lovely leotard. Sits down her first vault - didn't get the lift off the horse. Solid second vault. Armenia's Artur Davtyan takes the Pommel Horse title over Nagornyy and Great Britain's Joe Fraser. Giulia Steingruber wins the Vault title over Jessica Gadirova and Melnikova! Davtyan looks shocked I think. Calm response!! 

Final set of finals for the day - Women's Uneven Bars and Men's Still Rings. Salvatore Maresca is up first. Solid in the strength positions, looks in control of the rings and solid dismount! Jonna Adlerteg wears a lovely blue leotard, with yellow patterning and diamantes. Slight form issues on her pak salto. Nice Bhardwaj, Shaposhnikova, hop on the landing of the double lay out dismount. Petrounias - great, small hop on the landing. Vladislava Urazova - purple and black leotard with white and black patterning and diamantes. A couple of form bobbles in the routine with a hop on the landing. Igor Radivilov - Missed his routine. Amelie Morgan - wears same leo as Gadirova. piked Jaegar, Maloney, Bhardwaj, van Leeuwen, toe on front half with a dismount. Vahagn Davtyan - solid routine. Hop forward on the dismount. Filipa Martins - gorgeous leotard. Fall on her Ezhova. Repeats Ezhova. Second fall. Ibrahim Colak - Slight hesitation on final hold. Small hop back on dismount. Melnikova - Gorgeous routine! Nagornyy - another solid routine. Alice D'Amato - Lovely white and red leotard with diamantes. Massive hop forward on the dismount with a couple of small form issues. Vinzenz Hoeck - Such a lovely and measured routine, small shuffle back on the dismount. Giorgia Villa - GORGEOUS Leotard - black with sooo much silver shinyness and diamantes. GREAT routine, swung well and stuck dismount. Artur Avetisyan - lovely yamawaki to handstand, jamison to maltese, slight arch in handstand. solid dismount! Final competitor of the day is Germany's Elisabeth Seitz - Fall on the piked Jaegar. Love this German leotard. Finishes the routine but is not happy. Greece's Eleftherios Petrounias wins the Still Rings title over Russian Nikita Nagornyy with Italian Salvatore Maresca finishing in the bronze medal position. Russian Angelina Melnikova wins the Uneven Bars title over her compatriot Vladislava Urazova with Amelie Morgan of Great Britain taking the third place.

2023 Central American and Caribbean Games Women's Artistic TF & AA/EF Qualifications

Today sees the Women's Artistic Gymnastics Competition begin at the 2023 Centroamerican and Caribbean Games which is being held in San Salvador. Barbados declined the invitation to compete meaning the delegation of Puerto Rico has been increased from three to four gymnasts. After the first subdivision, the Mexican team has a commanding 10-point lead over Panama with Costa Rica sitting in third. Mexico's Natalia Isabel Escalera Cardenas sits atop the All Around rankings over compatriot Alexa Citlali Moreno Medina and Panama's Karla Andrea Navas Boyd. Moreno Medina also leads the Vault and Floor standings with compatriots Escalera Cardenas topping the Uneven Bars and  Paulina Campos Martinez top scoring on the Balance Beam.  The Team from Mexico remained dominant to win the team title over Panama with the team from Colombia winning the bronze medal.
