2022 CWG Women's All Around Final

So many beautiful leotards in this competition! Lots and lots of diamantes. Georgia Godwin on Vault - a couple of steps backward after a deep squat. Cara Kennedy - clear circle half turn, solid dismount. Ondine Achampong - slight short and low on landing. Jea Maracha - shap half, beautiful swings, giant full, double tuck dismount. Alice Kinsella - hop back but great form. Poppy-Grace Stickler - powerful Yurchenko full. Tara Donnelly - catches Jaeger close to bar and some issues on some of her skills. Naveen Daries - solid routine. Lovely black or is it navy leotard with black and white sleeves with diamantes and including the maple leaf. Tatiana Bachurina - stop swing on the transition to low bar and cannot recover fully so has a fall. Caitlin Rooskrantz - Round off full twist. Emily Whitehead - couple of steps back as landed short on Yurchenko 1.5. Laurie Denommee - massive hop forward. Shannon Archer - solid double twist! Emma Spence - Clean 1.5. Ruthuja Nataraj - fall on her release, extra swings, beautiful layout dismount. Nadine Nathan Joy - Straddle Jaeger, solid swings, slight overarch on one of her handstands, toe-front half dismount. After the first rotation, England's Ondine Achampong leads over Alice Kinsella (ENG) and Scotland's Shannon Archer. Clean routine from Emma Yap - no release moves. 

Jea Maracha - jump to split mount, wolf turn, flip layout, a couple of bobbles, one and a half twist dismount. Ondine Achampong - Low on the landing of her dismount but good routine otherwise, some form issues. Alice Kinsella - Clean piked Jaeger, solid dismount!! Great routine from Poppy-Grace Stickler. Fall on shap half for Rooskrantz. Fall for Emma Yap of Singapore on Beam, stuck dismount. Nadine Nathan Joy - solid mount, switch leap half, side aerial layout small balance check, solid front somi, great leap series, solid dismount!! Whitehead - off on her full pirouette, low on her dismount. Milka Gerhani - small bobble on her mount on Beam, roundoff tuck, split and wolf jump, front aerial, jump full turn, solid dismount for her. Denommee - front toe on, toe on to handstand, solid releases, late on giant full, hop back on dismount. Nataraj - solid start on beam, seemed tentative and counts a fall. Archer - overarch on handstand and misses connection to the high bar to fall, remounts and finishes strong. Neutral deduction for Kinsella for starting routine late on Bars. Spence - SOLID! Georgia Godwin - solid routine and stuck double layout. Kennedy - half on mount, combo change leg leap change leg side, off on flic layout stepout, straddle jump, full turn. At the halfway point Kinsella leads over Achampong and Godwin. Sri Lanka's Milka Gerhani has withdrawn from the remainder of the competition.

Naveen Daries - Seven Nation Army, good routine - lovely performance quality. Kinsella - Front aerial, side aerial and well off to the side and counts a fall, slight bobble, double wolf turn, change leap with a bobble, low dismount. Donnelly - out of bounds on 2.5 punch front, out of bounds on second pass, and low on her final pass. Stickler - small bobble on mount, double wolf, lovely acro series, solid double twist dismount. Bachurina - fall on opening pass, front layout, lovely presentation and dance, lower back injury but good job. Rooskrantz - solid mount, large pause before acro series, double wolf turn, grabs beam to avoid a fall and then falls, solid dismount. Emma Yap - huge step back on double pike, lovely presence. Whitehead - front somersault tuck mount, flip layout step out, front somi, double wolf, jump forward on dismount. Denommee - Roundoff layout, short on change leg leap, switch half to switch jump, misses foot and falls.

I missed the remainder of the 3rd rotation and the fourth. 

Georgia Godwin of Australia wins the All Around title over England's Ondine Achampong with Canadian Emma Spence winning the bronze.

    2023 Central American and Caribbean Games Women's Artistic TF & AA/EF Qualifications

    Today sees the Women's Artistic Gymnastics Competition begin at the 2023 Centroamerican and Caribbean Games which is being held in San Salvador. Barbados declined the invitation to compete meaning the delegation of Puerto Rico has been increased from three to four gymnasts. After the first subdivision, the Mexican team has a commanding 10-point lead over Panama with Costa Rica sitting in third. Mexico's Natalia Isabel Escalera Cardenas sits atop the All Around rankings over compatriot Alexa Citlali Moreno Medina and Panama's Karla Andrea Navas Boyd. Moreno Medina also leads the Vault and Floor standings with compatriots Escalera Cardenas topping the Uneven Bars and  Paulina Campos Martinez top scoring on the Balance Beam.  The Team from Mexico remained dominant to win the team title over Panama with the team from Colombia winning the bronze medal.
