2021 Doha World Cup - Day One of Finals

We start off with the Men's floor exercise on the first day of finals at the 2021 Doha World Cup. Turkey's Ahmet Onder - very clean worker on the Floor. Lands massively out of bounds on his third tumbling pass and slight step on his final pass. Sky-high passes from Kazakhstan's Ilyas Azizov who also steps out of bounds on his respective third pass. Gives away small form deductions on his landings and steps out on his final pass. Turkey's Adem Asil - He is quite a fast and dynamic tumbler. Great routine. Really felt his determination throughout the routine. Petro Pakhnyuk - Had the lowest difficulty of the qualifiers to the final from qualification. Deep squat on his double tuck pass. Few issues on a couple of his landings. Rayderley Miguel Zapata Santana of Spain - So close to the line on his first pass. Such a powerful and graceful tumbler. Small hop back on his final pass. He's pumped!! So much love from his fellow gymnasts and coaches. Let's declare it now .... he's earned his Olympic spot! Artem Dolgopyat - Solid routine, had some issues with his landings. Milad Karimi of Kazakhstan - he really is an elegant floor worker - like Zapata floats through the air. Out of bounds on his third pass and slight bobble on his penultimate pass. Tried to save it from going out of bounds. Another gymnast showed to get lots of support and encouragement. Love, love, love the camaraderie. Final gymnast to go in Antonios Tantalidis of Greece. Solid routine. Israel's Artem Dolgopyat wins the Floor Exercise honors over Spain's Rayderley Miguel Zapata Santana and Greece's Antonios Tantalidis.

Next up is Women's Vault. Gorgeous leotard for Egypt's Nancy Taman. Black with red, yellow and white patterning with silver diamantes. Yurchenko one and a half - slight bobbles on the landing and looks as though she had a small form break in the air. Solid second vault. Coline Devillard - the beautiful blue leotard with flowers and diamantes. Strong runup. Solid vault - slight step back and low on the landing. Second vault - Yurchenko 1.5, beautiful vault, powerful runup. Chusovitina - lovely sleeveless light blue leotard with white patterning - looks like a flower. Strong handspring front vault. Great second vault. Duha Al-Habshi, gorgeous smile, and I love the colors on her leotard. Multiple steps back on her landing but what a great experience for her. Step back on her landing but a great vault for her. The great Oksana Chusovitina wins the vault title over France's Coline Devillard with Egypt's Nancy Taman earning the bronze medal.

They attempted an interview with Duha Al-Habshi who is still smiling but unfortunately, they were having technical difficulties. And we missed the men's presentation but caught the last couple of seconds of Chusovitina on the podium! Next up is Men's Pommel Horse, which I always find quite fascinating and exciting to watch! There is some great hair happening in this final! We start with Ahmad Abu Al Soud of Jordan. Slight leg separation his spindle work but travels well on the horse. Long wait for his score. Milad Karimi - solid routine. Looked like he may have lost a slight bit of control in the routine. Matvei Petrov of Albania - had trouble with his mount and couldn't recover, has to count a fall. Comes off a second time. And has to count yet another fall. Beautiful flare work, however. Kohei Kameyama of Japan - Gorgeous routine with some great control, slight bobble on the dismount. Saeedreza Keikha - great routine! Nariman Kurbanov of Kazakhstan - very clean worker and he cannot stop smiling! Marios Georgious - I have missed watching this guy compete. Great swing but oh wow. He falls. Shakes his hand and looks in pain. Salutes and remounts. Solid dismount. Ferhat Arican - Last-minute tape adjustments. Some leg separation and appeared to lose momentum in the middle of the routine. Finished strongly. Iran's Saaedreza Keikha takes the Pommel Horse title over Kazakhstan's Nariman Kurbanov with Japan's Kohei Kameyama finishing in third.

Onto the second last event of the day - Women's Uneven Bars. Neon yellow leotard with white mesh sleeves and diamantes for Rebeca Andrade. Sleveless red leotard with yellow top and silver diamantes for Anastasiia Bachynska of Ukraine. Lorrane dos Santos Oliveira is wearing the purple, pink and yellow diamante leotard that we have previously seen from the Brazilians. Andrade - Solid routine!! Bachynska - Small hop on the dismount but a solid routine, although I feel she may have been short on a couple of handstands. Chuso is on the floor supporting and encouraging the gymnasts. Love that!!!! Loranne dos Santos Oliveira - Swings well, slightly short on handstand, tkatchev, stuck dismount! Beautiful white leotard with diamantes for Zsofia Kovacs and she's off. Jaeger, tkatchev, multiple steps forward on the landing of her dismount. Zeina Ibrahim - sleeveless light blue leotard with a darker blue flower pattern. Jaeger, double straight dismount. A solid routine for Zeina. White leotard with red and diamantes for Diana Varinska. Fall on her release combination. Stuck landing on her dismount. Jana Mahmoud - blue, orange and pink leotard with diamantes (sleeveless). Swings well, form break, and steps on dismount. Brazil's Rebeca Rodrigues de Andrade takes the Uneven Bars title over Ukraine's Anastasiia Bachynska with her compatriot Lorrane dos Santos Oliveira finishing in third.

And now for the final event of today's competition - Men's Still Rings! Caio Campos Souza is up first. Solid routine. Great control of the Rings. Igor Radivilov is up next. Steely determination and focus. Great swing, strength and holds. Hop forward on the dismount. Ali Zahran - great routine - so much strength! Arthur Nabarrete Zanetti - I feel like we haven't seen Arthur in competition in forever. SOLID!! Ibrahim Colak - This is looking to be an epic final. Like we knew it would be! GREAT routine. Small hop on the landing of his dismount. Next up is Iran's Mahdi Ahmad Kohani. Another solid routine!! Ahmet Onder is up next - slight form breaks and hop back on the dismount. And last but definitely not least... Eleftherios Petrounias - SUPERB!!! Ohhh the emotion - not just from Eleftherios but all the other gymnasts! Petrounias dominates taking the title over Brazil's Arthur Nabarrete Zanetti and Iran's Mahdi Ahmad Kohani.
