The Artistic Gymnastics Competition gets underway at the 2023 World University Games/Summer Universiade in Chengdu, China today. Competition at the Dong'an Lake Sports Park Multi-Purpose Gymnasium starts with the first two subdivisions of the Men's Team Final and Individual Qualification to the Men's All-Around and apparatus finals. At the halfway mark, USA leads the team final over Turkiye and Spain. In the All Around qualification, American Fred Richard leads over Turkiye's Adem Asil and Spain's Nicolau Mir Rossello. Spain's Pau Jimenez I Fernandez top scored on the Floor Exercise over compatriot Mir and Asil, whilst Armenia's Gagik Khachikyan sits atop the Pommel Horse standings over Ukraine's Pantely Kolodii and USA's Ian Skirkey.
